What can I expect from Fit-Sense?
Fit-Sense specialises in providing the following:
- Attention to detail in program delivery and design: tailoring to suit the individual's needs and goals.
- All exercises chosen are based on functional movement patterns - These are meant to be movements performed regularly during our daily lives. However, many of the current population tend to lead sedentary lives (particularly office workers), often without concern for posture or good lifting techniques. Please don't be like the person below (Rounded back highlighted in red):
Lift as highlighted by the blue line instead
3. Most importantly, what really separates Fit-Sense from the rest - I will empower you with health and fitness know-how to establish life-long healthy habits which means REAL RESULTS.
Sounds good to me - How do I become a Fit-Sense client?
My contact details can be found by clicking here - I usually reply to a message within 12 hours. Once contacted I will arrange a suitable time, date and place for a 45-60 minute initial consultation. What I like to do is have the first half of the consult at a cafe:
Don't worry - the coffee is on me
This is where we have a face-to-face discussion and fill out some paperwork about your goals, exercise experience and interests as well as injury and medical history. The other half of the consult is usually run at an outdoor location such as a nearby park - This is when we go through postural analysis, flexibility analysis and some fitness testing to determine the ideal program for YOU.
There are many types of tests available at our disposal (Please note: You will NOT be graded like you were in school)
From this information, I create a program plan according to your availability and individualised program cards to follow in later PT sessions - no PT sessions are exactly the same, so you are guaranteed to have various and challenging exercises to look forward to.
What about nutrition?
Currently as a personal trainer, I am not qualified to give specific advice or information such as meal plans to any clients. However, I can provide general advice in regards to hydration, pre- and post-workout recovery and any information that is contained within the Australian dietary guidelines or from recognised professional bodies (such as the Australian Institute of Sport). As part of an extended initial consult session of 10-15 minutes (if requested by the client during the personal profile), I will go through a nutrition checklist which will determine if a client has developed any good or bad habits. Next, I request that all my clients complete a food diary for 7 days to keep track of what their typical or regular week looks like in terms of dietary intake (which we then analyse to find areas of improvement). Finally, Fit-Sense has access to a network of Allied Health Professionals who can assist you at various stages during your training - and our referral may entitle you to some discounted services.
